Thought about the Gospels

I have come to the conclusion as I re-read some of the Gospels that the reason the conservative extreme right evangelists are uncomfortable/offended with the Gospel at times. It's because of who the Gospel lets in and not who the Gospels exclude. They tend to ignore the lessons and the wisdom that are taught in the Gospels for literal readings at times so they can exclude people they're not comfortable with.

It is sad that the lessons they need the most also offend them the most.
