I thought simple and straightforward would be good for today.

3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,

4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ.

Psalm 107:1-3, 8-9 (NKJV)

Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,
And gathered out of the lands,
From the east and from the west,
From the north and from the south. . . .

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!
For He satisfies the longing soul,
And fills the hungry soul with goodness.

There is a small local church I drive by at least once a day.  It has a roadside sign out front.  The pastor posts some great wit and wisdom things.  This one was posted Saturday morning.

Follow Jesus' teaching and you will learn to be a better person, not a bitter person.

Tik Tok

I watch TikTok a lot late at night when I am fighting my insomnia.  Most of the stuff is just mindless stuff.  Some are great humor, but now and then there is a post that digs right into my soul.  I heard a young, as in high school age I believe, poet put a new twist on an old poem.

She took sticks and stones and made it about bullying and the hurt of words.   I am going to condense it to the two most important lines with a slight paraphrase.  Not because her words are not good, but because they are fantastic, eloquent, and poignant.

Sticks and Stone will break my bone but words will break my confidence .... But words are like tattoos engraved permanently on my soul, my very being.

This goes to the very heart of who we really are when we interact with those we speak to.  Words can bully quicker, and be more damaging than most physical assaults.

I heard this one

I heard this today and thought wow so on point.

"It takes 6 to 8 pallbearers to lift us up and carry us to our final resting place. Imagine how much better life would be if each of us while alive had 6 to 8 people that would lift us up and be there in our life journey instead of at the end of it.
